The Temple Council consists of the following officers:
Chancellor
Vice chancellor
Secretary
Treasurer
The Temple may also have a chairperson of the council, one additional vice chancellor, director of membership, assistant secretaries, assistant treasurers, and other such officers within such titles as may be determined from time to time by the Temple Council.
Duties of the Chancellor
The Chancellor shall be the chief executive officer of the corporation and unless another person is specifically appointed as the chairperson of the Temple Council, the chancellor shall preside over all meetings of the council and if this corporation has members, at all meetings of the members. They shall have general and active management of the business of the corporation and shall see that all orders and resolutions of the Church Council are carried into effect. The Chancellor shall have the responsibility to conduct business on behalf of the Temple Council including but not limited to financial transactions of value less than $1000, or as authorized by the Temple Council and shall render to the treasurer and council members at regular meetings of the board, and whenever requested by them an account of all chancellor transactions.
The Chancellor shall serve for a period of 7 years unless they resign, are deemed unable to complete their duties by a 2/3 majority of the voting membership of the church and church council, are convicted of a serious crime which demonstrably illustrates unfitness for office per a per greater than or equal to 50% of the Council, or are replaced by unanimous written action by all other members of the Church Council.
Duties of the Vice Chancellor
In the absence of the chancellor, or in the event of their inability or refusal to act, the vice chancellor shall perform all the duties of the chancellor, and when so acting shall have all the powers of, and be subject to all the restrictions on, the chancellor. The vice chancellor shall have other powers and perform such other duties as may be prescribed by law, by the articles of incorporation, or by these bylaws, or as may be prescribed by the Temple Council.
The Vice Chancellor shall serve for a period of 8 years unless they resign, are deemed unable to complete their duties by a 2/3 majority of the voting membership of the church and church council, are convicted of a serious crime which demonstrably illustrates unfitness for office per a per greater than or equal to 50% of the Council, or are replaced by unanimous written action by all other members of the Church Council.
Duties of the Secretary
The Secretary shall certify and keep at the principal office of the corporation the original, or a copy, of these bylaws as amended or otherwise altered to date. They shall keep an electronic record, as well as a printed record at the principal office of the corporation or at such other place as the board may determine, the books of the corporations true minutes of the proceedings of all meetings as well as a membership book containing the name, address, email address and phone number of each and any members of the Temple Council, as well as the name, email and phone number of each and any member of the Temple, and, in the case where any membership has been terminated, he or she shall record such fact in the membership book together with the date on which such membership ceased.
The Secretary shall send the membership record, with annual updates sent to members of the Church council at the time of the annual meeting. The Secretary shall serve for a period of 3 years unless they resign, are deemed unable to complete their duties by a 2/3 majority of the voting membership of the church and Temple Council, are convicted of a serious crime which demonstrably illustrates unfitness for office per greater than or equal to 50% of the Council, or are replaced by unanimous written action by all other members of the Temple Council.
Duties of the Treasurer
The Treasurer shall have custody of all corporate funds and securities and shall keep in the books belonging to the corporation full and accurate amounts of all the corporations properties and business transactions, receipts, disbursements, assets, liabilities, gains, and losses. They shall deposit moneys, securities, and other valuable effects in the name of the corporation in the depositories designated for that purpose by the Temple Council.
The Treasurer shall disburse the funds of the corporation as may be ordered by the Temple Council, taking proper vouches for the disbursements, and shall render to the chancellor and council members at regular meetings of the board, and whenever requested by them, an account of all treasurer transactions and of the financial condition of the corporation.
Prepare, or cause to be prepared, and certify, or cause to be certified, the financial statements to be included in any required reports.
In general, perform all duties incident to the office of the treasurer and such other duties as may be required by law, by the articles of incorporation of the corporation, or by these bylaws, or which may be assigned to them from time to time by the Temple Council
The treasurer shall serve for a period of 3 years unless they resign, are deemed unable to complete their duties by a 2/3 majority of the voting membership of the Church Council, are convicted of a serious crime which demonstrably illustrates unfitness for office per greater than or equal to 50% of the Council or are replaced by unanimous written action by all other members of the Temple Council.
